A party of 6 young gymnasts from EVGC attended the Greater Manchester Open Championships recently. They were accompanied by coach Jayne Evett and judge Hayley Curtis. Amy Whiteway, Emily Dale-Beeton, Tara Ferguson, Emily Haddock and Kaitlin Kneen took part in the level 3 competition.

Results Here!

After a nightmare on beam Tara kept calm on bars to take the bronze medal and then excelled on floor gaining a massive 12.50 for the gold medal.

Emily had an excellent all around competition, taking 4th on vault, bars and floor, then winning the silver on beam for an excellent routine packed with difficulty. Emily won the overall bronze medal.

Amy Whiteway was not far behind on beam to take the bronze medal here plus a very creditable 8th overall.

Emelie upped her difficulty level from last year and was rewarded with a better score on bars, although finishing outside the medals and an overall 10th position.

Kaitlin didn’t have the best of competitions, with a slight injury gained on her first vault preventing a good performance.

Chloe Macdonald was the lone competitor from the club in the level 4 competition. Chloe competed with an increasing maturity and although outside of the medals her bar score was improved and her best score was 15th on floor in a large field of competitiors.
